Differnce Between Online and Physical Shopping - 1194 Words
Introduction Online shopping or online retailing is a form of electronic commerce whereby consumers directly buy goods or services from a seller over the Internet without an intermediary service. An online shop, eshop, e-store, Internet shop, webshop, webstore, online store, or virtual store evokes the physical analogy of buying products or services at a bricks-and-mortar retailer or shopping centre As we know that online shopping is the easy way shopping but also there are certain advantages as well as disadvantages. To overcome the technological challenges as well as global challenges most of the business organizations are running towards ecommerce or e-business. Conclusion/ Recommendation Based on the project leading individuals to reallocate their time and money resources, this study examined the time and cost attributes of shopping modes, and explored the tradeoff between these two attributes, i.e., the value of time, by assuming that consumers were faced with a shopping mode choice between physical store shopping and e-shopping. The final estimated value of time include two types: the value of travel time to shopping places, physical stores as far as this study concerned, and the value of waiting time for the delivery of purchased products. Of course consumersââ¬â¢ concern toward e-shopping is not only about time and cost. Some psychological aspects, such as information uncertainty and transaction security, have been playing an important role in dominating consumersââ¬â¢ e-shopping behavior, and have been even more widely discussed in the literature. However, ecommerce continues to advance, in speed and security in particular, it is generally believed that online information will be to a great extent improving both in quantity and quality in the near future. By that time, consumersââ¬â¢ negative perceptions towards e-shopping, such as information uncertainty and transaction security, may fade away. If this is going to be true, then consumersââ¬â¢ psychological concern over e-shopping may gradually be disappearing in the future. On the other hand, the economic concern over the travel problem; i.e.,

The purpose of this paper is to show how to evaluate the impact on innovation through strategies, processes, products and services through three different organizations. The organizations evaluated are Wal-Mart, Barnes Nobleââ¬â¢s and the University of Phoenix. As a manager of the in original and companies, it is important that several companies find a system to pursue accordingly and maintain the focus on remaining competitive. We will write a custom essay sample on Organizational Impact Paper or any similar topic only for you Order Now Consumers of all three businesses will profit from innovated options such as keeping the cost of products and services at a lower cost and by offering better options for a price which will enhance savings. Wal-Mart Wal-Mart values the impact on innovation through the quality of the product they sell to the customer. Wal-Mart makes sure that the customer is satisfied with the services rendered. By making sure that the quality is there for the products they sell the latest core principal will make sure that this continues. These core principal deals with the partner ships established with company so Wal-Mart will have good quality products to sell to the customer. By having these core principal the organization will be able to stay open because of the dedication they have to the customer. In order for the Wal-Mart to have these core principal take effect and have customer service improved to customer delight. Wal-Mart organization will have to implement a customer satisfaction survey line. This will have each store accountable for the services being provided to the customer. If the customer is happy for the service being provided the customer can call the hotline and let someone know about their situation. This will give a good learning tool for the store and local stores to improve on the situation that has happen so they can avoid it in the future. The way this can be enhanced is by having area coaches look in to the situation and ask what can be done better. By knowing and understanding the problem people can learnà from it and teach the associates how these mistakes were done and what was corrected. This type of quality planning will move the company forward and not be left behind. Barnes and Nobles The Barnes Nobleââ¬â¢s impact on strategy is to take advantage of the technology that improves the quality of the companyââ¬â¢s infrastructure, products and services may have risks associated with. One possible risk can be the data privacy and information security (Barnes Noble, 2010). Consumers may now buy books or e-books through entering their credit cards or bank accounts online. Another risk can be the consumer spending patterns. The consumersââ¬â¢ demand for products may be low, and can therefore result to decrease in sales and net income of the company. Competition can also be a risk associated with the initiative. For example, Amazon also has a product similar to Nook, which is the Kindle e-book reader. However, Barnes Noble also has products that no other company can offer, such as the amount of free e-books that the company offers to those who purchased their products. As long as these risks, initiatives, and the financial planning are effectively managed before a problem occurs, there would be a greater success in implementing the strategy of the company. University of Phoenix The University of Phoenix impact on strategy, process, product, or services in the education service over 22 years; they offer an array of classes with flexible schedules. An individual can acquire an Associate, Bachelor, or Masters Degree, and Doctoral degrees to certification and single courses. Another advantage the university offers is smaller online classes opposed to larger in class classrooms. The University of Phoenix hires faculty with real-world experience, and degree programs developed on relevant and effective learning for a quality education. The university is convenient for many students offering online and evening classes making it possible for those who work to have a chance to complete their education. The University of Phoenix is one of the nationââ¬â¢s largest private universities located in Phoenix, AZ with more than 200 university locations worldwide. Classes are online for individuals with a schedule that wouldà conflict with the campus class schedule, or for anyone that just wants to obtain a degree online. The university is online in most countries around the world that makes for a diversified classroom setting. The online classroom offers easy access to the online Library, grammar, spelling, and writing aides. Above all the classroom comes to you right on your computer, and you can do the online classes in the comfort of your own home while sitting in pajamas. The tuition for the universities online program versus college campus does initiate a higher price for a credit hour. The cost is justified with the cost of high technology, and the infrastructure. The university uses the profits made and re-invests it in the infrastructure to improve the online interaction. An individual is also able to apply for student loans, check on grants, and check with the school for any reduction in tuition fees. The University of Phoenix is consistently doing online advertising with side window ads grabbing an individual interest with the ad stating the question ââ¬Å"Would you like to go back to school, and earn your degree? You may be able to go for free.â⬠The University of Phoenix advertises on the television from time to time, and on the car radio with commercial ads. The university receives several referrals from university alumni, and from students who attend classes working on a degree. Word of mouth is a very powerful advertisement among friends and family then they go and tell their friends and family making word of mouth a powerful way to advertise. The University of Phoenix has grown into a large for profit educational institution although they had problems in the past they are slowly coming back from these unfortunate times. The university in the past has chosen many marketing strategies, and competing as a For-profit educational market. Segmentation of potential target markets such as consumers, business, and international is a very important process because not all the segments of a market are effective in a businessââ¬â¢ needs. Here is where the evaluation of the market segment size and growth, structural attractiveness, and company objectives and resources will require analyzing carefully by management. Conclusion Throughout the past decade, innovation on several organizations has shown a profit with an abundance of success to many customers and owners. The originality of the improvements is performing very well as the customers and owners are quite pleased with the outcome. The consumersââ¬â¢ demand for products may be low, and can therefore result to decrease in sales and net income of the company. Competition can also be a risk associated with the initiative. The three organizations I have chosen are Southwest Airlines, IBM Corporation and Motorola Company let see how innovation impacts these organizations. In 1971 an airline company named Southwest Airlines was born. The company stated with very little money but had some fame. Some of the advancement that made Southwest Airlines popular is their lower fares, the frequency of flight availability and on time arrivals, and an outstanding safety record.Southwest was always thinking innovation some years back southwest was thinking of the future and ways to keep their airlines in the forefront in the airlines industry the airlines purchased jet fuel at a lower price for future use, this was smart innovative and creative thinking on their behalf. ââ¬Å"Tickets less travel, use of the internet, booking amp; tracking trips through the website are the other innovative policies that ease the business operation of the companyâ⬠(Brainmass, 2008 pg. 1).Southwest Airlines has managed to be innovative on a couple of fronts the organization has developed a strategy to offer low fares and it has helped to streamline the operations. Another example is that Southwest uses only one type of airplane that is the Boeing 737s all the planes are indistinguishable with the flight instruments, ââ¬Å"this saves time and money by simplifying training. Pilot, flight attendants, and mechanics only need to know procedures for a single model of Boeing 737â⬠(Brainmass, 2008). Furthermore, as the country has faced some rough economic times especially is the airlines industry Southwest has managed to remain at the top in sales, customer service, lower fares, and on time arrivals. Southwest has purchased newer aircraft and aviation technology to improve performance and reduce overhead cost. Motorola was born on September 25, 1928 by Brothers Paul and Joseph Galvin the original name of the company was Galvin manufacturing Corporation in Chicago, Illinois. Motorola has been committed to innovation in communicates and electronics for the past 82 years. Their impact has been enormous. The company has been a solid innovator in the area of mobile communications. Motorola innovative impact has led to untapped opportunities all over the world. With the broad range of expertise in engineering and technology the company has certainly become and innovative leader. ââ¬Å"So the company also takes the advantages of the new technology innovation in order to improve the efficiency and quality of the products. By utilizing the efficiency of the workforce, the company can posses the highest quality products and control over the 45% industry all over the worldâ⬠(Brainmass, 2008, pg. ). In Motorolaââ¬â¢s case the external factors are important in their innovative impact, their opportunities and threats can depend upon the external strategy that is in place. These factors can change in accordance with the change business environment, the competition and the various innovations that the company has in place. It is vital for Motorola make changes in their strategy plan and do it according to the changes that take place in the external environment. IBM International Business Machines Corporation has been a leader in the computer technology industry since the 1950s.The innovative impact that IBM has had since the 1950s has been significant and creative. Their computer innovations cover hardware, operating systems, and various applications, (for example) in the 1960s IBM developed COBOL it was one of the first and most popular language until the 1980s. By 1981 IBM introduces the personal computer with the Intel 8088 processor, which is in use in the majority of personal computers today. IBM provides elite innovation services and products to its clients. â⬠IBM innovates with Eamp;TS to hold a new innovation standard called Innovation Networks i. . a new market ecosystem that allow firms to merge effortlessly. By tapping Eamp;TSââ¬â¢ Innovation Network services, firms can reduce product development costs- Clients can save costs by leveraging IBMââ¬â¢s existing IP instead of designing from scratchâ⬠(Brainmass, 2008. ). This method helps to decrease the time-to-market and the methods and processes that Eamp;TS uses such as six sigma and integrated product development helps the clients with his or her product development and reduces the snags and increases time-to-market. Gain on demand access to critical IP and specific engineering skills- Since, electronics and software are increasingly used in cars, planes and telecom equipment, OEMs need to make up for the lack of in-house expertise in chip design or embedded software development through IBM expertiseâ⬠(Brainmass, 2008. ).References Sharma, A. The usage rate of high technology based products is high among the customers who belong to this segment. The Roy Morgans Vale Segment is based on the different segments of consumers who show different types of behaviour towards the products that are manufactures by the companies. The product of Samsung which is being analysed in the discussion is related to the customers who belong to the Socially Aware group. These are people who believe in purchasing the products that are based on the latest technologies (Cross, Belich and Rudelius 2015). These consumers are well-informed about the products before they take the decision to purchase it. They have the most in-depth news about the products that are being launched in the market. These people mainly have a sense related to social responsibility and they try to convince others about the benefits about the new product that is being marketed and introduced in the industry. Positioning map of Samsung Source Created by author The major competitors of Samsung in the high quality and high price range are LG and Sony. These products give huge competition to Samsung in the market. The price related competitors of Samsung on the other hand, are Micromaxx and Panasonic. These companies provide the products with same features in low prices. However, the quality of these products are also quite low (Dibb and Simkin 2016). Deployment and Operations Committee â⬠Free Samples to Students
Question: Discuss about the Deployment and Operations Committee. Answer: Introduction: The best interface for a system is no user interface, this theory has been a recent craze among the software or application developers. This concept circumvents the fact that the utility of an application can be improved even without the implementation of an interface. There are numerous examples that prove the validity of the statement mentioned above. One of the examples is as provided below (Johnson, 2013). In recent years, several car companies have developed applications for smart phones that facilitate the consumers of their car to unlock the doors of the cars remotely (Barga, Fontama Tok, 2015). The unlocking procedure follows the following steps: The following procedure lets the driver to open the car door and enter the car using a Smartphone latest application that involves 13 steps to complete. The application compels the driver to use the phone. The driver even must take the pain to learn a new interface and all its functionalities (Paparo Martin-Delgado, 2012). Moreover, the experience is designed around the flow of the computer, instead of the flow of a person. However, it can be arranged that eliminating the UI from the above-mentioned process reduce the complete procedure to only three steps: The simplicity can be achieved by many processes, which is possible without the involvement of any user interface. Sophisticated technologies like motion sensors, proximity sensors and biometric plates can be used for achieving this objective. Proximity sensor integrated to the locking mechanism of a car can detect the presence of the registered driver within a specified range around the car and unlock the door automatically. The door lock of the car can also be equipped with biometric sensors that only open when the registered fingerprint of the driver is placed on it (Paparo Martin-Delgado, 2012). The process shown in Figure 2 reduces the complexity of the steps in Figure 1 yet improves the experience of the driver. All of this is achieved without the use of any UI. Therefore, the validity of the statement is thus proved by the example. Applications without UI have a variety of utility in todays world ranging from domestic to organisation. One of the remarkable utility of such application can be found for the daily works of the visually disabled people. These types of applications help the blind people to perform various digital functions through gesture and voice processes like making calls, composing and sending mails, receiving or reading mails, listening to music, browsing the web and such (Paparo Martin-Delgado, 2012). To accomplish an application without UI, it is required to integrate an application with sophisticated Artificial Intelligence (AI).Recent examples of AI integrated smart applications are Magic, Operator, M by Facebook, Cortana by Microsoft and Google Now or Google Assistant by Google. These applications provide almost unlimited option to perform digital functions without involving any UI (Paparo Martin-Delgado, 2012). The specifications of three types of twisted pair cables are as given below: CAT 5e 100 MHz UTP is used for 100 Mbps through 1Gbps Ethernet 1 100 m LAN applications. CAT 6 250 MHz UTP cable supports 10 Gbps short length applications from 35 55 m, which depends on crosstalk environment. CAT 7 600 MHz is an individually STP cabling used for 10 Gbps 100 m Ethernet LAN applications with better control performance in crosstalk than the CAT 6a type (Wessemann et al., 2015). The specifications of three types of coaxial cables are as given below: RG 6/UQ is a quad shield variant of RG 6 that has four layers of shielding. It has an impedance of 75 ohms. RG 7 loses less data at higher frequency for cables used in television, satellite and modems. It has an impedance of 75 ohms. RG 8/U is used in amateur radio. The Thicknet is similar (10BASE5). It has an impedance of 50 ohms (Nordebo et al., 2013). The specifications of three types of fibre optic cables are as given below: The composition of a multimode fibre optic cable consists of a core of large diameter. It has multiple pathways of light medium. It is generally available in two core sizes that is, 50 and 62.5 microns respectively. It is used in general information and applications related to voice fibre such as attaching segments to a network whose utility is in existence, and in applications that are small developments like alarm systems. LED or laser light medium is used by multimode cable core of both size (Agrawal, 2012). The core of a single mode cable is made of glass and its size ranges between 8 10 microns. The size of the core is small compared to that found in the multimode cable. It has a mono light pathway. The range of a single mode fibre optic cable is 50 times more than the multimode cable. It is generally applied in applications that requires high bandwidth range for its operation and in strong network connections that is spread over a wide range of area (Agrawal, 2012). Laser optimised 10 Gb fibre optic cable is a multimode cable variant that has marked fibre optic cable of refractive index profile in each assembly. Its utility is in premise networking applications that include large bandwidth (Agrawal, 2012). The following table shows the comparison between Video Tracking, Sensors used in Internet of Things (IoT) and RFID in relevance to their respective advantages and disadvantages (Xia et al., 2012). Advantages Disadvantages Uses Video Tracking Technology Helps to maintain visual records Aids in providing video evidence against criminal activities Easy to compromise High expenditure in installing Causes privacy issues for general people Video Tracking finds its utility in domestic as well as organisations for the purpose of security. Temperature Sensors It is very sensitive Cost of installation is less It can be surface mounted Accuracy is high Heats up on its own automatically Fails to detect moisture The utility of a temperature sensor is generally found in thermostat devices or semiconductors of high sensitivity. Pressure Sensors Requires less cost to implement Has the capability to adapt to various applications Has high output of signal level Uses robust technology The sensor is highly sensitive to vibrations Moving objects are difficult to detect These sensors are generally used in devices that uses a touch enabled screen Proximity Sensors Has the ability to remain functional in adverse weather conditions Have high accuracy rate Switching rate is high Has limited range of operation Is limited to detect targets of metallic composition The retail industry uses these sensors to track the customers in a chosen proximity and transmit offers in mobile phones. Optical Sensors Has immunity towards electromagnetic interference or noise Has a wider coverage area Very portable to carry and use Has immunity towards heat and chemical reaction Has high sensitivity Provides complete electrical resistance from high voltage electrical sources Sustains loss due to coupler Suffers loss due to scattering and absorption Suffers Impurity, Insertion and Reflection loss Receives interference due to multiple effects Is utilised in IoT technologies, aerospace, healthcare, chemical and energy platforms RFID Is capable of storing information A consumer can be tracked with the RFID tag integrated with the purchased device Versatile technology RFID implementation is very expensive Development of the program requires sufficient time External electromagnetic interference affects the scanning range of an RFID reader Has a very limited range of 3 meters Causes privacy issues Has a vast utility in retail and other organisational sectors as well as in educational institutions Table 2: Advantages, Disadvantages and Uses of Video Tracking Technology, Sensors of IoT and RFID Technology (Source: (Xia et al., 2012)) The various threats to security in association with the implementation of Internet of Things Technology that can be violated to harm consumers are as follows: Creating safety issues Enabling unauthorised access and use of personal data of consumer Allowing to carry out attacks on other systems Nevertheless, other security issues can be addressed in relevance to the implementation of IoT technologies such as direct gathering of important personal data such as bank account details, location, health information and other such information regarding a user (Kumar Patel, 2014). This paradigm enables a unidirectional communication from a single publisher to multiple subscribers. A subscriber expresses its interest towards a specific category or class of data to the publisher, which the publisher acknowledges and transmits the same to the interested subscriber whenever available. According to Nielsen who formulated the Law of Internet Bandwidth, the internet connection speed of a heavy user of internet increases by fifty percent per annum (Zhao et al., 2013). Moore analysed the statistics of growth of transistors in his time and postulated that the quantity of transistors per square inch on integrated circuits will double per annum starting from the year of its invention (Zhao et al., 2013). Both the laws of Nielsen and Moore postulated laws related to technologies that have Internet of Things Platform (Zhao et al., 2013). References Agrawal, G. P. (2012). Transcendentalism in Dead Poets Society Essay Example
Transcendentalism in Dead Poets Society Essay The movie Dead Poetââ¬â¢s Society has a transcendentalism theme which compares to many literature pieces we have read so far. Many ideas and thoughts from Dead Poetââ¬â¢s Society were expressed in literature from poets like Thoreau, Emerson, and Whitman. The movie Dead Poetââ¬â¢s Society starts at a conformists school where kids are taught and learn conformist ways of learning. The school says that 75% went to Ivy League schools and headmaster says ââ¬Å"You have to conform to become successful.â⬠The kids all stand up at the same time, and in synchronization, they repeat the schoolââ¬â¢s code which is ââ¬Å"Discipline, tradition, excellence, and honor.â⬠Then they all sit at the same time as well. This example is the machine that is in play like how Thoreau has mentioned in poems. Thoreau has said, ââ¬Å"That government is best which governs least.â⬠The headmaster is the machine making kids follow conformity. Which is transcendentalism? Neil Perry, the main character of the story, was a leader and straight A student who was told by his dad he would become a doctor in the medical field. Neil signed up for a class for taking yearbook pictures, and once his dad found out he immediately told him to drop the class, and Neil tried disputing with him, and his dad said ââ¬Å"How dare you!â⬠he brings in Neilââ¬â¢s mother as manipulation and Neil quickly agree to drop the class. This is also an example of a machine which would be Neilââ¬â¢s dad trying to make him conform but also another example of transcendentalism would be Neil being civilly disobedient by trying to fight and take that class.
